Ph.D. Student

Souvik Das

Souvik received his MS in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad, India, where he worked on low frequency electromagnetics modeling and electromechanical machinery. He has over four years of industry experience in the electrical maintenance division of The Ramco Cements Limited, India. He also worked at GE Research (GE Vernova) on multiphysical modeling and dynamic performance analysis of wind power generation drivetrains, and at COMSOL, Inc. as an Applications Engineer in low frequency electromagnetics. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests include high frequency magnetics design, multiphysics modeling, integrated magnetics for power electronics, and reliability analysis in magnetics design. He is also a recipient of the GRID INDIA (GIPSA 2025), formerly POSOCO Award, for his Master’s thesis.
